Attitude check-in

Today, I want to share something personal, something that's been brewing inside me – the magic of the Attitude check-in. It's a tale of how awareness brought clarity and healing into my life, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.

Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up feeling like you'd rather stay hidden from the world? That was me recently, wrapped up in a blanket of funk and uncertainty. Instead of my usual "keep calm and carry on" approach, I decided to take a different path. I chose to embrace my funk and explore its depths.

You see, sometimes, we need to pause, to give ourselves permission to heal, even when we're not sure what we're healing from. My partner, with his boundless wisdom, recognised this need and lovingly encouraged me to take a 'duvet day.' Despite his demanding 16-hour workdays, he saw what I couldn't – the importance of self-care.

My day began with meditation and a gratitude list – a ritual that grounds me. But on this particular day, I sensed I needed more, something profound. That's when I remembered what my friend, Malcolm Free, a NeuroLeadership and Health Coach, calls an 'Attitude check-in.' It's like tuning in to your energetic vibration, understanding the thoughts driving you. The internal dialogue during my Attitude check-in was a revelation. Tired? Nope, I had enough sleep. Frustrated? Getting closer. Resentful? Bingo. It was a breakthrough, a moment of clarity, and it led me to my true feelings.

Meditation became my tool to explore and reframe these emotions. With each breath, I shifted from frustration to faith, from concern to confidence. The Attitude check-in reminded me that every moment is an opportunity to choose a mindset of faith over fear.

Through this process, I realised I could reshape my thinking and release fear's grip, trusting that the universe conspires in my favour. I didn't need to know how; I only needed to trust and let go.

By confronting these emotions and reprogramming my thoughts, I emerged from my funk, feeling 100% better. The Attitude check-in became a powerful addition to my morning routine. Even on joyful days, it helps me celebrate happiness and focus on the good, reminding me that inner work isn't reserved for downtimes. It connects me with my whole self and reinforces the idea that the universe is my ally.

The beauty of Attitude check-ins? You can do them anytime, anywhere. Life's emotions can surprise us, but instead of suppressing them, take a moment to dive in. Healing these emotions empowers you to live a more fulfilling, joyful life.
